Saving sight is our reason for being

 

Preventing Blindness

The Lions Save-sight Foundation works towards bettering and saving sight, now and for future generations. It relies on funding obtained by the Lions Clubs of WA through community projects, donations and bequests.

Its prime objectives include:

Free public screening throughout WA to detect eye disease .

Endowment of the Lions Chair in Ophthalmology at the University of Western Australia.

Establishing community based programmes with the aim of preventing eye disease and blindness.

Major support to the research programmes of the Lions Eye Institute for cutting edge technology in saving and restoring sight.

The Foundation promotes, fosters and assists in the study and dissemination of information concerning sight care through schools and community projects. Whenever there is an opportunity to spread the message against blindness and eye disease the Foundation endeavours to assist.
